Florida State takes a seven-game winning streak into Wednesday night’s finale of a two-game series with non-conference foe McNeese State.
No. 18 Florida State (25-9) rolled to its seventh straight win on Tuesday night and can complete a non-conference sweep of visiting McNeese State (23-14) at JoAnne Graf Field in Tallahassee when the teams meet on Wednesday night. The Cowgirls lead the Southland Conference at 8-1 and had won eight straight games before Tuesday’s loss. The Seminoles, 7-2 and in second place in the ACC, took their last loss to then-No. 2 Texas back on March 20. Florida State was the runner-up in last year’s Women’s College World Series and have a run of 23 straight NCAA tournament appearances. McNeese State has played in the last three NCAA tournament.

McKenna Reid allowed four hits and worked into the fifth as Florida State hammered its way to a 12-0 run-rule victory in five innings on Tuesday. Michaela Edenfield went 3-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs to power the offense, while Jahni Kerr and Kennedy Harp also went deep. Jaysoni Beacham slashes .461/.556/.755 for the ‘Noles, Edenfield leads the squad with 10 home runs and Kalei Harding has 41 RBIs.
Samantha Mundine paces the Cowgirl attack, slashing .354/.375/.416, while Corine Poncho has team highs of 13 home runs and 24 RBIs. The team is 75-of-88 on the basepaths, as well, with Crislyne Moreno boasting a 12-for-12 mark.
Reid is now 10-1 for Florida State with a 4.24 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 68 innings. Shaelyn Sanders is 11-7 for McNeese with a 2.34 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 116.2 innings in the circle.
