The Rangers look to win a second straight game against the Capitals on Tuesday night in Game 2 of their playoff series
The New York Rangers host the Washington Capitals in Game 2 of their playoff series on Tuesday night. The Rangers shook off a slow start in Game 1 to take control and beat the Capitals 4-1. They would score the first three goals of the game in the second period to put the Caps away. The first two goals came just 33 seconds apart as Matt Rempe and Artemi Panarin put them up 2-0. Jimmy Vesey would add a goal just 1:30 later to put them in control. Chris Kreider would put a cap to the scoring with a goal at 16:17 of the third period. The Rangers outshot Washington 31-21 and will look to do the same on Tuesday in Game 2.

The Capitals, though, are looking to put more pressure on the Rangers as they try and even the series and take away home-ice advantage from the top team in the league.
The Capitals’ lone goal in Game 1 came at 7:31 of the second period when Martin Fehervary finally found the back of the net.
The Capitals just couldn’t get any momentum going in the first game and will need to put more pressure on the Rangers if they want to even the series.
