Can the Lakers avoid a sweep in Game 4 against the Nuggets?
As Game 4 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets takes place tonight, a sweep is on the table. Denver has won each of the first three games in this opening-round series, proving to be a worthy reigning champion. It would take a near miracle for the Lakers to come back and win this series but never count LeBron James out. Given the stakes in this elimination, this could be the last game the Lakers play in front of their home crowd this season. Could it also be the last time that James plays in a Lakers uniform?

Nikola Jokic — the likely MVP of the league once again — has simply been too much to handle for the Lakers. Although Los Angeles has holistically been very competitive in this series and has held leads at certain points in games, the Nuggets have been much better down the stretch when it matters. As such, Denver has won each contest thus far. This includes a game-winner from Jamal Murray in Game 2, which was a huge moment in this series.
If the Lakers do manage to win today’s game, the series will shift back to Denver for Game 5 on Monday night. From there, Game 6 would be back in Los Angeles on Thursday if necessary.
