Nicolau had a six-fight winning streak, including a 4-0 mark in his return to the UFC before being knocked out by Brandon Royval back in April of 2023. After a scheduled rematch with Manel Kape in January was canceled after Kape missed the weigh-in, that bout was rescheduled for this event but Kape withdrew and was replaced by Alex Perez on three weeks notice.
Elsewhere on the card women’s flyweight contender Ariane Lipski (17-8) goes for her fourth consecutive UFC win as she takes on Karine Silva (17-4) who is on an eight-fight win streak and has won four straight bouts under the UFC umbrella, all by submission.
Former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Austen Lane (12-4), who won on Dana White’s Contender Series with a knockout win over Richard Jacobi in September 2022 makes his return after a loss at UFC 293 in Australia as he takes on undefeated Brazilian kickboxer Jhonata Diniz (6-0) in his UFC debut.
