Wild Card Weekend Predictions

The Super Wild Card Weekend is set with a bunch of great games and even colder weather. The storylines are everywhere as we get ready for the first round of the playoffs. Before we get to the first two games on Saturday we run through our predictions on who will win each game.

Browns at Texans – Saturday 4:30 p.m. ET

The Texans snuck into the playoffs on the last weekend as they survived a comeback attempt by the Colts. They would then secure a surprise AFC South title when the Jaguars lost the next day.

The Browns got in as a wild card despite having a ton of injuries and having to rely on Joe Flacco to lead them after Deshaun Watson got hurt. Watson came over to the Browns after being traded from the Texans.

The Texans have home field advantage and possible rookie of the year CJ Stroud, but the Browns have the better record and have found ways to keep on winning. The Browns defense is better, though, and we think it will be the difference in the game.

Dolphins at Chiefs – Saturday 8:00 p.m. ET

These two teams met back in Week 9 in Germany with the Chiefs winning 21-14. Conditions are going to be a little bit different for this game as the temperature is supposed to feel like -12 on Saturday night.

For two teams that like to throw the ball that could be a problem. Both teams have capable running backs, though, and they are going to have to be a big part of the game.

The other problem for the Dolphins is the amount of injuries they have on the defensive side of the ball. They are going to be without a bunch of key players and it will make a difference. The Dolphins also haven’t been good against teams with winning records.

The weather is going to keep this game close, but the Chiefs are nearly unbeatable at home in the playoffs and it isn’t going to change this week.

Chiefs 17 Dolphins 14

Steelers at Bills – Sunday 1:00 p.m. ET

The Bills are one of the hottest teams in football, as they won their last five regular season games to go from 6-6 to AFC East Champions. They did it the hard way, as they had to beat the Chiefs, Cowboys and Dolphins to get it done. Josh Allen is still turnover prone, but has been playing great for the Bills.

The Steelers snuck in thanks to the Ravens resting Lamar Jackson in the last game and the Jaguars losing to the Titans in the last week. They are sticking with Mason Rudolph at quarterback, but on the other side of the ball are going to be without star T.J. Watt.

The Steelers found a way into the playoffs, but this is where it ends. The Bills are simply a better team and are going to cruise to a victory.

Bills 31 Steelers 14

Packers at Cowboys – Sunday 4:30 p.m. ET

The Cowboys stole the NFC East away from the Eagles in the last few weeks to grab the No. 2 seed and earn home field advantage. They can score and the defense has been opportunistic all season.

The Packers got hot at the end of the season, as Jordan Love found his footing and played well. They avoided getting eliminated in the last week for a second straight season and will be one of the biggest underdogs coming into the weekend.

The Packers have been a nice story making it back to the playoffs, but the Cowboys just have too much for them.

Cowboys 34 Packers 17

Rams at Lions – Sunday 8:00 p.m. ET

Matthews Stafford is finally playing a playoff game in Detroit. Unfortunately for Lions fans it comes with him on the Rams. Stafford was a great player for the Lions, but was traded to the Rams for Jared Goff.

The two will now get a chance to prove who is better on the field in a rare playoff game in Detroit.

Goff helped lead the Lions to their first division title in 30 years. He is hoping to lead them even further as they try and make the Super Bowl for the first time ever.

The Rams are the first team standing in the way and their offense could be a problem for the Lions defense. The Rams have two of the best receivers in the league and they are going to be tough to stop.

The Lions, though, feel like they are finally ready to make a run and being at home is going to help. The Lions get it done and set up a rematch with the Cowboys.

Lions 31 Rams 28

Eagles at Buccaneers – Monday 8:15 p.m. ET

The defending NFC Champion Eagles have stumbled into the playoffs. After starting the year 10-1, they have lost five of their last six, including bad losses to the Cardinals and Giants. They haven’t looked the same all season and it has caught up to them.

The Buccaneers haven’t looked great for most of they season, but still found a way to win the NFC South. The division was weak and the Bucs were just good enough to win it.

Both of these teams don’t look like they are ready to make a run, but one of them has to move on. The Eagles have more experience, so even though they have struggled they squeak by with a win.
