Dan Skillings and No. 2 seed Cincinnati will take the court against Robbie Avila and No. 1 seed Indiana State on Tuesday.
The No. 1 seed in the top right quadrant of the bracket, Indiana State, will take on the No. 2 seed from the quadrant, Cincinnati, at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Indiana on Tuesday. The Bearcats ended their first season in the Big 12 Conference with 14 losses, which included one against Baylor in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament, which lost them their chance at an NCAA Tournament berth.
They entered this tournament as a No. 2 seed and took on San Francisco from the West Coast Conference in the first round. They won by just one point in overtime after being tied 67-67 at the end of regulation. Simas Lukosius led the team dropping 28 point in that win. Dan Skillings Jr. had 16 points and eight rebounds. They advanced on to take on Bradley in the second round of the tournament, a game in which they won easily 74-57. Jizzle James led the team with 25 points in that win. Skillings Jr. had 20 points with five rebounds and two assists.

The Sycamores of Indiana State were just a few spots out of an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and were arguably one of the most deserving teams after a great season. They ended with just six losses, including one to Drake by four points in the MVC Final.
They took on SMU in the first round and won by nine points, 101-92, on the back of a massive 35-point performance from Jayson Kent. In the second round, they beat Minnesota by 12 points, 76-64. Ryan Conwell led the team in that second round win with 23 points.
