Aniyah Black and South Carolina will take the field against Claire Davidson and No. 7 Duke in the Durham Regional.
The NCAA softball tournament will kick off today with a matchup between the No. 7 ranked team in the nation, Duke, and South Carolina at the Durham Regional in North Carolina on Saturday morning. Each regional is a double-elimination tournament with a chance to advance to the Super Regionals in the next round of the NCAA Tournament. Both of these teams won their first regional game and will vie for a chance at the championship. The Gamecocks finished their season 35-22 overall and just 8-16 against SEC opponents. After beating Mississippi State on the road in the SEC Tournament, they lost to Texas A&M before bowing out 3-2. They won their first game of the NCAA Tournament over Pac-12 school Utah yesterday 2-1. Alana Vawter picked up her 17th win of the season after pitching 7.0 innings allowing just one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts. The offense for South Carolina was provided by two RBIs, one each from Jenn Cummings and Aniyah Black.

The Blue Devils are the No. 7 team in the country and only lost six games all season. They finished 48-6 overall and 20-4 against teams in the ACC. They won the ACC Championship taking down Boston College 2-0 followed by Clemson 4-3, and finished it off with Florida State in the championship game 6-3.
They opened up the NCAA Tournament with a regional game against Morgan State which they won yesterday 6-1. Jala Wright picked up her 18th win of the season pitching five scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Claire Davidson finished with four RBIs on three hits as the main provider in the offense. Aminah Vega and Gisele Tapia both had one RBI as well.
