The Chicago White Sox host the Washington Nationals Tuesday after a rain delay moved the series opener.
The Chicago White Sox and Washington Nationals will play a doubleheader Tuesday to start this four-game series. The opener on Monday was postponed due to rain. The first game of the day will be played at 4:40 p.m. ET, while Game 2 will start at 7:40 p.m. ET. While the White Sox have the worst record in the American League, they’ve been playing much better lately. They’ve won four of their last five games coming into this series. Chicago won three of the four-game series against the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend. The White Sox dropped the finale 7-0, ending their chance at a sweep. Chicago lost despite outhitting Cleveland 6-5. Guardians starter Logan Allen was just too much, going six scoreless innings, while the bullpen didn’t give up any hits.
Chicago will start Chris Flexen (2-3, 4.29 ERA) in the opener and will go with Erick Fedde (3-0, 3.00 ERA) for the night cap.
