On Sunday afternoon, the Oklahoma City Baseball Club will look to break a two-game losing streak after dropping Friday and Saturday’s games to the Sugar Land Cowboys in the teams’ six-game series. The fourth race in the 2024 IMSA Weathertech Championship Race series heads to Monterey, California for the Motul Course de Monterey. This is the second race in a row in California for the series after the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach three weeks ago. Through three races this season the team of Dane Cameron and Felipe Nasr hold a strong lead over the field. Those two started the season with a win and then followed that up with back-to-back third-place finishes to build their lead over the team of Sebastian Bourdais and Renger van der Zande. Bourdais and Zande are coming off a huge win to jump up the standings after a slower start to the season than the rest of the drivers in the standings. Track and Field athletes will flock to Boulder for the Pac-12 Outdoor Championships on Sunday afternoon.

The season is coming to a close this weekend for athletes from the Pac-12 as they compete at Potts Field in Boulder, Colorado for the Pac-12 Outdoor Championships. Competition will come to a close on Sunday afternoon beginning with field events earlier in the day and running events kicking off afterward. Women’s Discus, Women’s Pole Vault, Men’s High Jump, Women’s and Men’s Triple Jump and Men’s Discus took place as the field athletes competed in their respective finals. Gavin Champ from USC leads the Pac-12 in triple jump with a best of 15.89m (52’1.75″) while Temitope Ojora, also from USC, holds the top mark on the women’s side with a jump of 13.82m (45’4.25″).

Maryland attempts to close out a non-conference weekend sweep at Boston College after taking both ends of a doubleheader on Saturday

The second game of the 2024 IIHF World Championships continues with the second match for both Switzerland (1-0) and Austria (0-1) in Group A play. The top four teams from each group will move on to play in the quarterfinals. With its first win Switzerland is in the top four along with Czechia, the host country, Denmark and Canada and is on its way to the quarterfinals if the standings hold through group play. The Minnesota Twins (23-16) saw their three-game winning streak snapped with a loss in the last game of this series against the Toronto Blue Jays (18-21). Both games in this series have been close with Minnesota winning a low-scoring, grind of a game 3-2 in game one. That continued their winning streak to three games. In game two Toronto bounced back with a high-scoring 10-8 win with the bats waking up and the offense winning the day to even the series. The Houston Astros and Detroit Tigers close out their three-game series with the rubber match today.

In the first two games of this series, the Detroit Tigers (20-19) and Houston Astros (14-25) have split the first two games. Now it all comes down to the rubber match to see which team will come away with the series win today. Detroit has fallen into a funk over the last eight games going 2-6 overall. One of those wins came in the last game of this series with an 8-2 win to even up the series. Detroit brought out the bats in the second inning in the win, scoring seven runs and running up the score behind a Mark Canha grand slam that broke the score wide open.

The Baltimore Orioles look to sweep this three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks today.

Through two games the Baltimore Orioles (26-12) have had just enough to outlast the Arizona Diamondbacks (18-22) in the first two games of this three-game interleague series. The Cubs took the opener 7-2, but couldn’t overcome five home runs from the Pirates on Saturday and lost 10-9. The Terriers, 9-7 in conference play sit a half-game behind Western Carolina in fifth place and visit Samford next weekend. East Tennessee State last visited the NCAA tournament in 2013 while Wofford made its lone appearance in 2007 and won the SoCon regular-season title in 2022.

Xander Schauffele heads into the final round of the Wells Fargo Championship with a one stroke lead today.

Heading into the final round of the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship Xander Schauffele holds a one-stroke lead over the field. He is at -12 overall, just one stroke ahead of Rory McIlroy (-11) setting the stage for an exciting final round with two of the best golfers in the world today. McIlroy picked up three strokes in the third round on Saturday to put the pressure on Schauffele. The Cardinals, 13-13 in the ACC, good for fifth in the Atlantic Division, likely need a win in the ACC tournament in two weeks to return to the NCAA tourney after missing a season ago.

The Michigan Panthers take on the D.C. Defenders in an XFL vs. USFL cross-conference game in the UFL today.

The Michigan Panthers (4-2) head into their seventh game of the season in the United Football League with the second-longest active winning streak in the league. They are playing their best football of the season with a two-game winning streak with the XFL Conference’s D.C. Defenders (3-3) up next on the schedule. In Michigan’s last two games they cruised to a 35-18 win over the Memphis Showboats on the road and then came out on top against the Arlington Renegades 28-27 at home in one of the most exciting games of the regular season in the UFL as the XFL and USFL merge into one league this year.

The Vlassic Classic in Cincinnati is set to continue on Sunday in APP action.

The Sawyer Point Pickleball Complex in Cincinnati, Ohio, is set to continue hosting the Vlassic Classic on Sunday in APP action. The 2023 edition of the APP Vlasic Classic was also held at the Sawyer Point Pickleball Complex in Cincinnati, Ohio, from May 9-14, 2023. The tournament featured singles, doubles and mixed doubles competition for both amateur and professional players. The professional divisions were headlined by some of the top pickleball players in the world, including Parris Todd, Hunter and Yates Johnson, Megan Fudge, Simone Jardim, Andrei Daescu, Susannah Barr, Rob Nunnery and Alix Truong.
