The Milwaukee Brewers host the New York Yankees on Saturday night in the middle game of a three-game set. The Brewers won the opener on Friday 7-6 in 11 innings for their third straight win. They trailed by one heading into the 10th inning, but they tied it and then finally won it in the 11th. In an XFL Division matchup in the UFL on Saturday, the San Antonio Brahmas take on the Arlington Renegades.

Saturday night at Choctaw Stadium, the Arlington Renegades (0-4) host the San Antonio Brahmas (3-1) in Week 5 XFL Division action in the UFL. As the halfway point of the 2024 season hits the Brahmas are trying to keep pace with the St. Louis Battlehawks – also 3-1 – at the top of this division. Both teams are 3-1 with St. Louis handing San Antonio its only loss of the year so far two weeks ago. Last week, the Brahmas bounced back at home, when they beat the Michigan Panthers 19-9 at the Alamodome. The third round of the 2024 JM Eagle LA Championship tees off with Grace Kim in the lead today.

Grace Kim (-12) heads into the weekend at the start of round three in the JM Eagle LA Championship with a four-stroke lead over the field. She has played the best golf in the field with rounds of 64 and 66 to start the tournament and is in a position to win her second tournament on the LPGA Tour. Kim starts the third round with a four-stroke lead over Maja Stark who is at eight under par. The rest of the field is a full six strokes behind Kim with just 36 holes left in the tournament starting with the third round today.

Ryan Nicholson, a first baseman, leads the team with 12 home runs with 38 RBIs. Émilien Pitre leads the team in RBIs with 39 on the season paired with five home runs. Both are batting over .300 this season. Mason Moore has been a dynamic pitcher and one of the best in the country. He is undefeated at 7-0 this season in 10 appearances with a 3.98 ERA. He has 45 strikeouts allowing 39 hits in 52 innings pitched.

UCLA begins its first year under new head coach DeShaun Foster when it plays its annual spring game on Saturday

DeShaun Foster leads UCAL out on the football field for the first time as a head coach on Saturday for the Bruins’ annual spring game. Foster takes over for Chip Kelly who left to become the offensive coordinator for Ohio State after the season. Foster takes over a team that will be moving to the Big Ten after leaving the Pac-12 with Oregon, Washington and USC. The Bruins are coming off an 8-5 season in 2023 that concluded with a 35-22 win over Boise State in the LA Bowl. The end of the regular season didn’t go as planned, though, as they lost three of their last four and dropped out of contention in the Pac-12.

In Game 2 Oklahoma City turned the screws with Gilgeous-Alexander going for 33 points and rookie Chet Holmgren filling up the statsheet with 26 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. New Orleans will be without star Zion Williamson again as the series shifts to New Orleans for Game 3 putting the pressure on Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum and the rest of the team to get in the win column.

So far this series through two games Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 30.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game on 55.8% shooting from the field. He is playing at the level of a player that is in the final three of MVP voting this season and helped lead his team to the number one overall seed in the Western Conference.

Oklahoma City has had balance with rising stars Holmgren (20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game) and Williams (20.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game) both playing at a high level through the first two games this series. The 15th round of AMA Supercross heads to Philadelphia with the top riders in the sport today.

For the first time Philadelphia, Pennsylvania plays host to the best riders in AMA Supercross on Lincoln Financial Field. Today is filled with qualifying on both the 250SX and 450SX circuits with every driver looking to come out on top for the main event races. This is the second to last race ahead of the 2024 Supercross Championship Final in Salt Lake City, Utah. Before that huge event all of the riders take over Philadelphia for round 15 and then Denver, Colorado for round 16 of the 2024 season. Last week Jett Lawrence, the leader overall in points on the 450SX circuit, won in Nashville to maintain his position at the top of the standings. As did RJ Hampshire in the 250SX circuit as the two both look to earn a championship this season in their respective circuits.

Heading into today’s race the leader on the 450SX circuit is Lawrence with 286 points. He is closely followed by Cooper Webb (281 points), Eli Tomac (253 points), Chase Sexton (246 points) and Jason Anderson (224 points) to round out the top five this season in total points. 

Over in the 250SX standings Hampshire has an even slighter lead over the field with his 166 points. Levi Kitchen (164 points) is in second place with Jordan Smith (148 points), Jo Shimoda (138 points) and Garrett Marchbanks (121 points) making up the rest of the top five heading into round 15 in Philadelphia today.

The Los Angeles Dodgers go for the series win against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off a hot start to this series and will try to win it against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon. It is difficult to have a more dominant game than the Dodgers did on Friday beating Toronto 12-2. Shohei Ohtani continued his brilliant start on the field for the Dodgers by hitting his seventh homer of the year amidst boos for the Toronto faithful. LA scored six in the third inning and never looked back. Will Smith joined in on the festivities hitting a homer of his own. The Dodgers scored for the next three straight innings and gave Gavin Stone plenty of run support on a night where the Dodgers’ starter had a great stat line. He went seven innings giving up one earned run on two hits. LA will once again be the favorite in Game 2 with a -155 line in its favor.

NC State will host No. 5 Duke on Saturday afternoon at Dail Softball Stadium for the second game of the teams’ final ACC series ahead of the ACC tournament next weekend. The Wolf Pack is currently in last place in the ACC standings with a conference record of 3-16 and an overall record of 27-21. Last night, NC State put up a good fight, but ultimately fell 4-3. Taylor Ensley led NC State with two RBI from a single in the seventh to bring the game within one run, but the team was unable to bring in one final run to force extra innings. Rylee Wyman took the loss in the circle, pitching a complete game and giving up four earned runs.

No. 5 Virginia hosts top-ranked Notre Dame in an ACC regular-season finale on Saturday.

After falling in a disappointing conference loss to second-ranked Duke on the road last week, No. 5 Virginia looks to bounce back against top-ranked Notre Dame in Charlottesville on Saturday. With their only loss of the year coming in overtime at the beginning of the season, No. 1 Notre Dame has won seven consecutive games to improve to 9-1 overall with a 3-0 mark in conference play. The Irish are also a perfect 3-0 on the road this season ahead of the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Tournament next week. Fifth-ranked Virginia, on the other hand, has lost back-to-back games to drop to 10-3 overall with a 1-2 mark in ACC play. Last season, Notre Dame ended Virginia’s season in the NCAA Tournament with a 13-12 overtime victory.
